Queen Palm
The Queen palm is native to woodlands of Paraguay, Brazil, Argentina in South America. The Queen palm is nowdays widely planted as an ornamental palm. Popular for its lacy, dark green fronds and ornamental, bright green fruits which are produced in hangin clusters in midsummer and ripen durin winter. The ueen palm is easy palm to grow in a backyard and for this reason it is over planted.

Palm trees
Palm trees grow successfully in many areas around the world. Usually they grow in tropical and subtropical areas, but sometimes they grow in cold northern regions such as Canada, Alaska, northern Europe. The most common palm trees are Fishtail palm, King palm, Triangle palm, Pygmy date palm, Queen palm and of course Coconut palm and Date palm.

Date Palms
The family Phoenix, the date palm produces sweet and economically important fruits-dates. The palm existed 6500 years ago in Egypt and the Middle east. Only female palms bears fruits. Females start to produce dates after 8-10 years and reach maturity at 30. dates are highly nutritious, rich in protein, minerals and natural sugar.

My favorite flower is Bird of paradise. It has very unusual shape and beautiful colors. It reminds me of everything about the tropics. It is native to South Africa and closely related to the banana plant. It is a member of the Strelitziacear family.
